Looking for a free Trainerize alternative?
Trainerize is free for one client. The MyRepsCount Trainer Portal is free for all of them: build programs in your browser, clients follow them in a free phone app, and you see what they actually did. It doesn’t do messaging, payments or nutrition, so read the honest section below before you switch.

Why people switch
A program for every client
Build from scratch or start from a template. Each client gets their own copy: change their weights, reps or sets any time, and nothing changes in their app until you push. Private coach notes keep injuries and goals on hand.
Plan vs. actual, every set
Clients log each set in the app and finish every workout with an effort rating, so you see what they actually did next to what you planned.
No seats, no add-ons
Trainerize charges by client tier, then extra for payments, meal plans and video. The Trainer Portal is free at any size, and clients use the free app.
Reps counted, not typed
For single workouts, the client props up their phone and the camera counts 60+ exercises, from pushups and squats to burpees and kettlebell swings. No video leaves the phone.
Groups and teams too
Send one workout to a whole class or team alongside individual programs. Camera-counted AMRAPs and Tabatas come back ranked by score.
Where Trainerize is better
We make MyRepsCount, so here is the part most comparison pages leave out.
- It’s free for one client, permanently, with messaging and habit coaching included.
- Messaging is built in. The Trainer Portal has no chat: clients get an email when you assign work, and you talk wherever you already do.
- Optional payments, meal plans and video calls. The portal does none of these.
- Challenges with leaderboards that clients can see. The portal ranks team AMRAP and Tabata scores for the coach only.
- A branded app and a much bigger business toolkit for studios.
- You can sign up today. The Trainer Portal is request-access while we onboard coaches personally.
How the Trainer Portal works
-
Plan in your browser. Build one-off workouts or multi-week programs, then assign them to one client or your whole group. -
Clients train with the free app. Your sets, reps and weights are already filled in. They check off sets, or the phone camera counts their reps. -
See what actually happened. Planned vs. actual for every set, effort ratings, client notes, and who skipped.

Trainerize alternative FAQ
How much does Trainerize cost?
Trainerize’s pricing FAQ says the free plan covers 1 client, Grow is $10 a month for up to 2, and Pro starts at $25 a month for up to 5 clients, scaling to $135 a month for up to 50. Annual billing saves 10%. Payments ($10/mo), advanced nutrition ($20–$45/mo), video coaching ($10/mo) and a branded app ($169 one-time) cost extra.
Is Trainerize free?
For one client, yes: the free plan never expires. A second client moves you to a paid plan. There’s also a 30-day trial with unlimited clients that drops back to the free plan.
Is there a free Trainerize alternative with unlimited clients?
The MyRepsCount Trainer Portal is free for trainers, coaches and gyms, with no client limit. You build workouts and programs in your browser and clients follow them in the free MyRepsCount app. It doesn’t include messaging, payments or nutrition.
Why is the Trainer Portal free?
Coaches bring their clients to the MyRepsCount app, and that’s how the app grows. Clients don’t pay to follow your workouts either.
Can I import my programs from Trainerize?
Not yet. You rebuild them in the program builder. Once a program exists you can assign it to as many clients as you like, and each one gets their own copy to adjust.
