A Hevy alternative that counts your reps for you
Hevy is one of the best workout logs there is. But you still type every set in yourself. MyRepsCount counts the reps with your phone camera, then logs them, and keeps a manual log for everything the camera can't see.
The short answer
Stick with Hevy if…
- You train mostly with barbells and machines at a gym.
- You want an Apple Watch or Wear OS app, or a web dashboard.
- You like following friends and copying their routines.
Try MyRepsCount if…
- You train at home and are tired of tapping the phone between sets.
- You do a lot of bodyweight, dumbbell, or kettlebell work.
- You want the app to keep count during high-rep sets, circuits, and AMRAPs.

Why people switch
No more tapping between sets
Prop the phone up and train. The reps are counted and logged while you move.
Built for home workouts
Bodyweight, dumbbells, kettlebells, and bands: what most people train with at home is exactly what the camera counts.
Something to make you start
Focus keeps your social apps locked until you have trained. Hevy logs the workout; Focus gets you to do it.
Where Hevy is better
We make MyRepsCount, so here is the part most comparison pages leave out.
- A much bigger community: a social feed, followers, and shared routines.
- Watch apps on Apple Watch and Wear OS, plus a web app. MyRepsCount is phone and tablet only.
- Deeper lifting analytics, body measurements, and a warm-up calculator.
- Logs any barbell or machine lift. A camera can't count a leg press.
How MyRepsCount counts your reps
-
Prop your phone up. Floor, shelf, or against a water bottle, with your whole body in frame. -
Train hands-free. The camera tracks your movement on the phone and counts each full rep. No video is recorded or uploaded. - Or log it by hand. Anything the camera can't count goes in the manual log, with weights, rep ranges, and supersets.

Hevy alternative FAQ
Is Hevy free?
Yes, with limits. Hevy's free plan logs unlimited workouts but caps you at 4 routines, 7 custom exercises, and 3 months of stats history. Pro removes the limits for $2.99 a month, $23.99 a year, or $74.99 lifetime.
Does Hevy count reps automatically?
No. You enter weight and reps for each set and tick it off. Its watch apps log sets and heart rate, but don't count reps.
Can MyRepsCount replace Hevy at the gym?
For machine and barbell work, you will be using the manual log, and Hevy's is more mature. MyRepsCount shines when the camera can see you: bodyweight, dumbbells, kettlebells, and home circuits.
Does Hevy have an Apple Watch app?
Yes. Hevy has Apple Watch and Wear OS apps for logging sets and tracking heart rate. MyRepsCount has no watch app; it counts reps with the phone camera instead.
